Brady Township
Fire Rescue & Ambulance

Brady Township Volunteer Fire, Rescue, & Ambulance Company Inc. was founded on February 26, 1958 due to the need for faster response times to local fires and emergencies.

A group of 23 men met in the old post office building of Luthersburg Pa and formed Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Brady Township purchased their first fire truck on April 15, 1958, a 1947 Howe Pumper for $5,988. By mid June, the new department had grown from 23 men to 102 members. In 1966, Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department received their first brand new fire truck a John Bean high pressure volume pumper body on a Ford C850 truck chassis. Later in that same year, Brady Township received their first Ambulance, a 1951 Chrysler donated by Paul Short funeral home in Dubois. The state passed legislation requiring municipalities to provide ambulance services to its citizens. This marked the beginning of an ambulance service that provided emergency health care to our local communities. In 1975, the Cadillac ambulance was traded for a brand new Dodge van ambulance, and by 1983 we had 20 trained EMT’s. Today we maintain a fleet of four fire fighting apparatus and one BLS ambulance.

We cover the north western part of Clearfield county consisting of 742 households containing 2010 residents. Our station sits at 11 Community Center St, Luthersburg PA 15848.

If you would like to join our volunteer family in the fire and rescue service, we would be delighted to give you more information.
